        a) How does a planet differ from a star?

    Answer:

    b) What is meant by the ‘Solar System’?

   Answer: The solar system includes  the sun, eight planets, satellites, and a small number of                           other celestial entities. It is also referred to as the family of the sun because all these                     celestial objects are central around the sun.

    c) Name the planets according to their distance from the sun.

    Answer: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and naptune.

    d) Why is the Earth called a unique planet?

   Answer: The Earth is called the unique planet because:

                   1. The earth is the 3rd planet from the sun and is the only planet that favours the                                  conditions in which life can be possible.

                  2. It has oxygen, it has trees, the climate here is suitable for living.

                  3. Water is even found in multiple forms in this planet.

    d) Why do we see only one side of the moon always?

    Answer: The moon takes about 27 days to complete one rotation on its axis, which is the                              same amount of time it takes to orbit around the Earth. Therefore, we see only one                         side of the moon always.

    e) What is the Universe?

     Answer: A collection of billionsof galaxies is commonly referred to as the universe.
