Read the given Passage carefully and answer the following questions:

Forests in India supplied timber for railways, ships and buildings. The British declared large areas as Reserved Forests, where no grazing or collection of forest produce was allowed. Villagers could not hunt or cut wood. Only those with permits could enter. Shifting cultivation was banned, forcing tribes to change their livelihoods. Forest guards kept strict watch. Local people were often arrested for small activities like picking fruit. These harsh rules led to widespread anger. In Bastar, people stopped work, looted warehouses and burned government buildings. The government had to modify the forest policies later.
